Our parish is deeply committed to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all our children and young people. To uphold this commitment, the Diocese of Spokane mandates rigorous safe environment training for all clergy, employees, and volunteers who have contact with minors.
Curriculum Provider: Catholic Mutual Group (CMG)
We utilize the Catholic Mutual Group (CMG) platform, a comprehensive program widely used by Catholic dioceses across the United States, to administer our safe environment training.
Program Focus: The training educates adults on recognizing the signs of abuse, reporting suspected abuse, and implementing best practices to create a safe environment and prevent harm.
Required Participation: All individuals—including staff, teachers, coaches, and volunteers—must successfully complete the CMG Connect training modules and undergo a background check before beginning their service.
Ongoing Compliance: The Diocese requires all participants to maintain compliance through ongoing training and updates as scheduled by the Diocese.
Our Commitment to Safety
Our parish, in union with the Diocese of Spokane, adheres to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. This commitment includes:
Mandatory Reporting: All adults are trained on their legal and moral obligation to immediately report any suspected abuse to civil authorities and the appropriate diocesan officials.
Strict Policies: We maintain clear policies regarding appropriate conduct and interaction between adults and minors.
