Baptism
INFANTS AND CHILDREN UNDER SEVEN
Congratulations! Children by their very presence proclaim the gospel of Christ. Parents seeking baptism for children under seven should contact Fr. Steve Dublinski, 509-332-5312, to schedule the celebration.
CHILDREN 7+ and TEENS prepare for Baptism by completing lessons at home, as well as attending Sacrament Preparation meetings with their parents. Baptism for children seven and older is offered during the Easter Vigil, followed by Confirmation and First Eucharist.

Confirmation &
first eucharist
The Catholic Church celebrates three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist (Holy Communion). Baptism begins a person’s life in Christ, Confirmation seals and strengthens the grace received at Baptism through the Holy Spirit, and First Holy Communion allows the faithful to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, uniting them more fully with Christ and the Church.
Children must be at least seven years old by Easter to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist. Registration for Sacrament Preparation opens August 1, and will close October 1. Our office must receive a Baptism certificate no later than February 1 for your child or teen to receive Sacraments this year. If you do not have one, please give yourself plenty of time to request a certificate before February. You may bring us a paper copy, email it to our office, or ask your home parish to send it to us. Restored order
The Catholic Diocese of Spokane has restored the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist) to their original order. Children in the diocese prepare for and receive Confirmation and First Eucharist at the same time.

PREPARING CHILDREN AND TEENS TO RECEIVE SACRAMENTS
The Catechism teaches that parents are the primary catechists for their children. Children and youth preparing for sacraments complete weekly lessons at home with a parent, as well as attend 6 group meetings and complete the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. Parents determine when children or teens are ready to prepare for Sacraments, but children must be seven years old before Easter to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist.

Sacraments of Healing
Anointing of the Sick
The ministry of Jesus reached out especially to the sick. He held the sick in the center of his heart and of his community. Your parish community wants to extend the ministry of Christ to you in your time of struggle.
In times of serious illness or hospitalization, contact the parish office (509-332-5312) and Fr. Steve Dublinski will come to your home or hospital room.
Twice a year we celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick communally during Sunday Mass. You are welcome to join these liturgies.
If you are homebound for any period of time, we would like to send a minister to your home and bring you Holy Communion.

Reconciliation (Penance)
Reconciliation is a beautiful way in which we celebrate God’s forgiving love for each of us and our reconciliation with our community of faith.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered in the church on Saturday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. You may also make an appointment with Fr. Steve Dublinski by calling 509-332-5312 and mentioning you would like an appointment for spiritual direction.

Sacrament of Marriage
Marriage PreparationCongratulations on your engagement! The whole Church rejoices with you as you come together to celebrate your love and commitment. You may have already begun to prepare for the big day. Your church community is eager to help you prepare, not only for the wedding, but for the years of marriage ahead.
To Begin the ProcessPlease contact the Parish Office (509-332-5312) or email Jessica Ortiz-Eriamiatoe at least four months prior to the proposed wedding date to set up a meeting with Fr. Steve Dublinski or Deacon Jim Evermann.
Basic CriteriaSpokane diocesan norms require that at least one of the parties be Roman Catholic, and that four months be allowed for preparing for the sacrament of marriage. Your presiding Roman Catholic priest or deacon must establish your "freedom to marry" prior to confirming your wedding date.
If this is a Second Marriage
In the instance of prior marriages of either party, the date for a wedding cannot be set until a Decree of Nullity is attained through the appropriate diocese. Fr. Steve Dublinski (509-332-5312) is available to answer questions regarding annulments and guide you through the process if necessary.
